The Permaculture Design Certificate course is an internationally-recognized, seventy-two-hour course resulting in a Permaculture Design Certificate. It provides an introduction to permaculture design as set forth by movement founder Bill Mollison. This PDC is hosted by Geoff Lawton on the award-winning Greening the Desert Site in the Dead Sea Valley just 10km north of the Dead Sea and 6 km east of the Jordanian-Palestinian border, directly east of the West Bank.
This is a four-week internship at the Dead Sea (or Jordan) Valley Permaculture Project (aka 'Greening the Desert - the Sequel') site. This small project is located in the village of Jawasari on less than 1 acre of ground. Immerse yourself in a once in a lifetime experience. Come and join us, live and learn about permaculture in the lowest place on earth.
Are we at the mercy of a misguided management of the ecosphere, or can we take control for ourselves and re-discover its innate abundance? Feed ourselves? Reduce our energy demands drastically. Build for a low-carbon future? And find a common cause and positive goals that cross boundaries at home, in our communities, and in the global community? Whilst leaving the world a better and more beautiful place which we have come to understand profoundly… What’s needed is a framework that will guide us - not giving us the answers, so much as giving us the questions which we can ask to lead us to the answers we need, tailored for our individual and group circumstances.
Fermentation goddess Elisabeth Fekonia from Permaculture Realfood is coming to The Permaculture Research Institute, Zaytuna Farm! Elisabeth has a wealth of experience in wild cultures, ferments, cheese making, sourdough bread, and tropical vegetable cultivation.
Elisabeth is an award-winning, accredited Permaculture teacher and is all about teaching people what real food is in a practical and knowledgeable way. So come and join Elisabeth and the team at Zaytuna Farm for a weekend course that will be packed with learning opportunities.
Plants are a very important part of a permaculture designed, cultivated ecosystems as they are needed in very large numbers. By growing plants in the plant nursery, their cost can be greatly reduced. And if the plants are grown from plant material collected from the property or the local area, cultivars that are adapted to local conditions can be the result.
Let us take you into the world of Permaculture with a weekend ‘Zaytuna Farm Tour’ at our home, The Permaculture Research Institute of Australia. Zaytuna Farm is a highly active Permaculture demonstration site. It is at the forefront of Permaculture Design and you will have the unique experience of observing permaculture principles producing an abundance of food and other yields from our living environment. Zaytuna Farm is situated on a sixty-six acre (27 hectares) property that fronts Terania Creek opposite…
