Zeitgeist Addendum

Alternatives to Political Systems, Consumerism, Economics, Society — by Craig Mackintosh February 28, 2009

Some of you will have watched ‘Zeitgeist – the Movie‘. I don’t know about you, but I thought it was complete rubbish. I must confess I only watched about a third of it, as right from the beginning I started fact-checking as I went and found it full of holes.

Because of this I was reluctant to view the follow-up – Zeitgeist Addendum. But, in a moment of recklessness, I did, and was pleasantly surprised. It’s long, but well worth a look. Readers who enjoyed Money as Debt, and The Crash Course, will appreciate, in particular, the first half of this new production, as it delves deep into the money system that is shaping our societies and framing our unsustainable way of life. Productions like these are well worth sharing, as they’re helping more and more people to see the need for systemic change – not only at the grass roots level, but also in the entrenched, but failing, economic and political systems that are bringing us to the extreme edge of a viable humanity.

In the latter part of the documentary, the producer Peter Joseph tries to find solutions to the problems well outlined earlier on, but unfortunately however, in my view, he falls well short in this area. But, you guys are all grown ups, so will leave you to come to your own conclusions. Let us know your thoughts:

  • I saw the first one and while there were a lot of holes in the facts I did in fact sit through the whole thing and was left speechless and shocked I had never thought much about the Government or how far down the rabbit hole the corruption went nor did i really care however after seeing that I avidly researched the Fed IRS and the corruption of my Government then I systematically call when they try to pass yet another bill cat or law stealing even more rights, money or land from “we the People” while the corruption of Our current Republic stems from the private holding of the Federal Reserve once we can dismantle that and its thieving offspring the IRS we can perhaps oust all the corrupt poly (more then one) ticks (bloodsuckers) out and rebuild the best free market economic society that was working far better then any other with more productive and sovereign citizens the world has seen prior in 200 years Americans produced and invented more the the 2000 or so years before the colonies were settled while I may be quite biased this fact cannot be ignored and the Government even with a sneaky crooked Bank lurking in the shadows pulling strings the Republic Democracy worked in spite of the Socialistic desires of the world bankers in charge of the money we borrowed with interest from them became one of the most influential in the world.
So I still believe that the Habius Corpus of the Brits and the Declaration of Independence From the Monarchy led to Our ultimate drafting of the Constitution Uniting the States and forming a pretty decent Republic form of Government .Had Congress kept doing their assigned role of handling the Federal Governments Money I believe the system would be very effective however the alienation of the average guy, the citizen from the Government that works for them needs to remedied from the time children come to the age of reason and let all Citizens take an active role in what direction all decisions “we the people” are required to make that should be the only form of Socialism involved on the government level however the social aspect of community (takes a village to raise a child) is something the electronic age has pushed out I saw it happening with the TV We had a B&W and I was embarrassed as a child we could not afford the Color sets the other kids parents owned. Who taught me to be that materialistic? It was not my Mom or Dad they were raised in the last part of the depression and knew that it was not shameful or prideful to desire material objects, so it must have come from the consume throw away culture of the late 60′S and early 70’s
Zeitgeist opened my eyes and while he does have a shock value on the first part about religion and still could back a lot of it up with better facts all in all its pretty good for someone just trying to open sheeples eyes.
    He Opened mine.
